Data deletion — how to request deletion of your data

There is a data deletion process. You may request deletion of your personal data at any time.

How to submit a request

Send an email to support@nidaadhan.com.
Use the subject line: Data deletion request.
Include the email address of your optional Nida account (if you created one) and whether you use Google Play or the App Store.

What we delete

Your optional Nida account (email sign-in / authentication)
Cloud-synced app preferences linked to that account
Forum profile data and related community data we control
Support messages that we still hold

On-device data

Settings, caches, downloaded Quran pages/audio, and similar files stored only on your phone are removed when you clear the app’s data in Android/iOS settings or uninstall the app. If you never created an account, this is sufficient: we do not keep a personal account for you on our servers.

Timeline

We complete verifiable deletion requests within 30 days.

1. Introduction

Nida Adhan (“we”, “our”, “the App”) is a free Islamic companion app for prayer times, Quran, Qibla, dhikr, reminders, nearby mosques, and an optional community forum. This Privacy Policy explains what information is processed, why, with whom it may be shared, how long it is kept, and how you can request deletion of your data.

The App is designed with privacy in mind: core worship features work without creating an account, we do not sell personal data, and we do not show third-party ads.

3. Optional accounts

A Nida account is optional. Prayer times, Quran, Qibla, dhikr, reminders, and most other features work without signing in after onboarding.

If you choose to create an account (email and password), it is used for:

optional cloud sync of selected app preferences across devices;
the community forum (posting, replies, profile, notifications).

Guests can browse the forum in read-only mode. We do not use social sign-in (no Sign in with Google / Apple as a required login method for the core app).

4. Information we process

4.1 Location

If you allow location permission, the App uses approximate or precise location to calculate prayer times, show Qibla direction, and find nearby mosques on a map. You may also enter a city or coordinates manually.

Location is used on the device. Depending on the feature, coordinates or a place name may also be sent to third-party services we do not operate (for example prayer-time calculation APIs such as Aladhan, Diyanet-related sources for Türkiye, Google Maps / Places for mosque discovery, and timezone helpers). We do not sell location data. If you deny location access, you can still use manual city selection where the App supports it.

4.2 Data stored on your device

The App stores settings and content locally (for example language, theme including dark mode, prayer notification settings, selected cities, cached prayer times, Quran bookmarks/notes, downloaded mushaf pages and recitation audio, reminder progress). This stays on the device unless you enable cloud sync while signed in, or a feature explicitly sends data to a service listed below.

4.3 Account and cloud sync (only if you sign in)

If you create an account we process your email address, password (stored hashed by our authentication provider, not in readable form in the App), and optional profile details you provide (for example display name). Signed-in cloud sync may store selected preferences (language, locations, prayer/Quran settings, reminder and fasting-related preferences, and similar app state) so they can be restored on another device.

4.4 Community forum (only if you participate)

If you use the forum while signed in, we process content you post or reply with, votes/reactions, profile information, and related moderation data needed to operate a community (for example reports). Forum content you publish may be visible to other users.

4.5 Notifications

If you enable notifications, the App may schedule local prayer, adhan, reminder, and similar alerts on the device. If you are signed in and enable forum/push notifications, a device push token may be processed via Firebase Cloud Messaging so we can deliver community notifications.

4.6 Diagnostics and analytics

The App may use Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics (Google) for aggregated usage, stability, and crash diagnostics. These services may process technical identifiers typical of mobile apps (for example app instance / device identifiers, crash logs, and coarse device/OS information). This is used to keep the App reliable, not to sell advertising profiles.

4.7 Maps, fonts, and remote content

Google Maps Platform — nearby mosques / map views (queries needed to show the map and places).
Google Fonts (or equivalent font loading used by the App).
GitHub / jsDelivr (and similar CDNs) — public remote content such as daily reminders, translations, or seasonal files. These requests typically do not include your account email.

4.8 Support messages

If you email us or use an in-app “report a problem” flow, we process whatever you include (message text, optional contact details, and technical details you attach) to provide support.

4.9 What we do not do

We do not sell your personal information.
We do not show third-party advertising networks in the App.
We do not require an account to use prayer times, Quran, or Qibla.

5. Why we process data (purposes)

Provide prayer times, Qibla, maps, Quran, dhikr, and reminders you request.
Remember your settings and (if you opt in) sync them across devices.
Operate the optional community forum.
Send notifications you enable.
Fix crashes and understand whether the App is stable.
Respond to support and legal requests, including data deletion requests.

6. Legal bases (where GDPR / KVKK-style rules apply)

Performance of the service you request (prayer times, maps, forum if you use it, account if you create one).
Consent (device permissions such as location and notifications).
Legitimate interests (security, abuse prevention, product reliability via crash/analytics signals).
Legal obligation where we must retain or disclose information.

7. Sharing and processors

We share data only as needed to run the App, including:

Supabase — optional authentication, cloud sync, and forum backend.
Google — Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics, Cloud Messaging; Maps Platform; fonts as configured.
Prayer-time / location helpers — e.g. Aladhan and Diyanet-related sources, depending on your location and settings.
GitHub / jsDelivr — public content delivery.
Apple / Google — as app-store and OS platform providers.

Those providers process data under their own terms and privacy policies. We do not sell personal data to data brokers.

8. Retention

On-device data remains until you clear app data, uninstall, or the App overwrites it.
Account, cloud sync, and forum data remain until you delete the account / we complete a deletion request, or you remove specific content in the App where that is possible.
Support emails are kept as long as needed to handle your request, then deleted or reduced to what we must keep for legal reasons.
Analytics / crash logs follow each provider’s retention settings.

9. Data deletion (full process)

This section is the same process summarized at the top of this page. Google Play requires that we state how you can request deletion of your data.

9.1 Email request (all users)

Email support@nidaadhan.com.
Subject: Data deletion request (Turkish: Veri silme talebi).
Write the email of your Nida account if you have one, and the store you use (Google Play / App Store).

9.2 What is deleted

After we verify the request, we delete or irreversibly anonymize, within 30 days:

authentication account;
cloud-synced preferences linked to that account;
forum profile and related data we control (posts/replies may be removed or anonymized where technically necessary to keep the community thread readable);
support correspondence we still hold, except records we must keep by law.

9.3 Device-only users (no account)

If you never signed up, we do not keep a personal Nida account for you. Uninstall the App or clear app data on the device. That is the deletion method for locally stored information.

9.4 What we cannot fully control

Copies already processed by independent providers (for example Google Analytics/Crashlytics or Maps) are handled under those providers’ deletion/retention rules. Backups may take a short additional period to expire.

10. Your choices

Deny or revoke location and notification permissions in system settings.
Use manual location instead of GPS where the App allows it.
Stay signed out; core features still work.
Sign out, change email/password in Account settings, or request deletion as in Section 9.
Uninstall the App or clear app data.

Where GDPR/KVKK apply, you may also request access, correction, restriction, or objection by emailing support@nidaadhan.com. You may contact your local data-protection authority.

11. Children’s privacy

The App is a general utility for prayer and Quran. It is not directed at children in order to collect personal data from them. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children for marketing. Parents or guardians should supervise device permissions. If you believe a child provided personal data to us, email us and we will delete it using the process in Section 9.

12. International transfers

Our processors (including Google and Supabase) may process data in countries other than yours. Where required, we rely on those providers’ contractual safeguards.

13. Security

We use industry-standard protections appropriate to a mobile app (HTTPS, hashed passwords via the auth provider, access controls on our backend). No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

14. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy. The “Last updated” date will change. Material changes may also be noted in the store listing or in the App where appropriate. The current version is the one published at this URL.

2. İsteğe bağlı hesap

3. İşlenen başlıca veriler

Konum: namaz vakti, kıble, harita / yakın cami. Cihazda kullanılır; özelliğe göre Aladhan, Diyanet kaynakları, Google Haritalar gibi üçüncü taraf servislere koordinat veya yer adı gidebilir. Konumu reddedebilir veya şehri elle seçebilirsiniz.
Cihaz içi depolama: dil, tema (karanlık mod dahil), bildirim tercihleri, şehirler, Kur’an yer işaretleri, indirilen sayfa/ses, hatırlatıcı ilerlemesi.
Hesap / senkron (giriş yaptıysanız): e-posta, kimlik doğrulama, seçtiğiniz tercihlerin buluta kopyası.
Forum: yazı, yanıt, profil, bildirim; yayınladığınız içerik diğer kullanıcılara görünebilir.
Bildirimler: yerel ezan/hatırlatıcı; giriş ve izin varsa Firebase Cloud Messaging ile forum bildirimi.
Analitik / çökme: Firebase Analytics ve Crashlytics (kararlılık; reklam satışı için değil).
Destek e-postaları: yazdığınız içerik.

4. Paylaşım

Veriler yalnızca uygulamanın çalışması için işlenir: Supabase (hesap, senkron, forum), Google (Firebase, Haritalar, yazı tipleri), namaz/konum API’leri, GitHub/jsDelivr (açık içerik), Apple/Google (mağaza ve işletim sistemi). Veri satılmaz.

5. Saklama ve silme

Cihaz verisi: uygulama verisini silene veya uygulamayı kaldırana kadar. Hesap/forum/bulut: silme talebi tamamlanana kadar. Doğrulanabilir silme talepleri 30 gün içinde yerine getirilir. Ayrıntı bu sayfanın başındaki kutu ve İngilizce Bölüm 9’dadır.

6. Çocuklar

1. Scope

This policy applies to the Nida App (iOS, Android, and similar builds) and to public configuration and media files served from the repository ismile94/nidaunnur-content (for example via jsDelivr and raw.githubusercontent.com). It does not apply to third-party websites you open through in-app links (those sites have their own policies).

2. Accounts

A Nida account is optional. Core features (prayer times, Quran, Qibla, dhikr, reminders) work without signing in. If you choose to create an account (email and password), it is used for optional cloud sync of preferences and for the community forum.

3. Categories of data and purposes

Depending on your choices and device permissions, the App may process:

Location (approximate or precise): To compute prayer times for your place, show Qibla direction, load map views, suggest nearby places of worship, and related time-zone or routing helpers. Location-related requests may be sent to prayer-calculation APIs (including Aladhan calendar endpoints with coordinates), Google Maps Platform services (Maps, Places, Directions, Time Zone API as used by the App), or other network services the App calls for these features. If you deny location access, you may still be able to use manual city / coordinate entry where the App supports it.
Locally stored preferences: The App may store settings (for example language, prayer preferences, notification toggles, cached prayer times) on your device using mechanisms such as local storage / SharedPreferences. This data stays on the device unless a feature explicitly sends it to a server.
Notifications: Where you enable them, the App may schedule local notifications on your device. Content needed for those notifications is processed on-device or prepared locally; we do not operate a generic “push notification account” for advertising in the App’s core design described here.
Usage analytics (aggregated): The App may use Firebase Analytics (Google) to collect aggregated usage and diagnostic signals to understand feature usage and stability. This is intended to avoid collecting unnecessary personally identifying details; however, analytics providers may receive technical identifiers typical of mobile analytics (such as device/app instance identifiers) according to their own infrastructure.
Fonts and media: The App may download fonts (for example via Google Fonts packaging used in the project) or audio / images from configured hosts. Remote seasonal content and translations may be loaded from GitHub / CDN endpoints pointing at nidaunnur-content or similar public URLs.
Diagnostics you choose to send: If you use a “report problem” or support flow, any information you include in that message (including contact details you type) is handled for support purposes.

4. Legal bases (where GDPR-style concepts apply)

We rely on performance of the service you request (prayer times, maps, reminders), your consent (permissions such as location or notifications), and legitimate interests (security, fraud prevention, product improvement through aggregated analytics), as applicable under local law.

5. Sharing and processors

We do not sell your personal information. The App may transmit data to service providers / infrastructure needed to operate features, including but not limited to:

Google (Firebase Analytics, Maps Platform, fonts or other Google-hosted assets as configured),
Aladhan (or successor endpoints) for prayer-time calculations,
GitHub / jsDelivr (public content delivery),
Apple / Google as platform vendors for distribution, crash/diagnostic tooling they provide on-device, and their applicable store policies.

Those providers process data under their own terms and privacy policies.

6. Retention

On-device preferences and caches persist until you clear app data / uninstall or the App overwrites them.
Server-side retention (if any) for analytics or APIs depends on each provider’s policies.

7. Your choices

You can withdraw permissions in your device settings (location, notifications, etc.), use manual location where supported, limit ad tracking / analytics options the platform offers, or uninstall the App.

7.1 Data deletion

To request deletion of your personal data, email ismailaram94@gmail.com or support@nidaadhan.com with the subject Data deletion request and the email of your Nida account (if any). We delete the account, cloud-synced settings, forum profile data we control, and support messages we still hold, within 30 days. On-device data is removed by clearing app data or uninstalling. 8. Children

The App is not directed at children to collect data from them beyond what is reasonably needed to provide general utility features. Parents or guardians should supervise device permissions.

9. International transfers

Providers may process data in countries other than your own. We rely on standard contractual mechanisms / provider safeguards where required.

Bildirimler: İzin verirseniz yerel bildirimler planlanabilir.

Kişisel verilerinizi satmıyoruz. Özelliklerin çalışması için Google (Firebase Analytics, Haritalar Platformu, barındırılan varlıklar), Aladhan, GitHub / jsDelivr, Apple / Google (mağaza ve platform) gibi sağlayıcılara aktarım olabilir; her birinin kendi politikası geçerlidir.

6. Saklama

8. الأطفال

التطبيق غير موجه لجمع بيانات الأطفال بشكل خاص؛ يُنصح بإشراف الوالدين.

قد تتم المعالجة خارج بلدك وفق ضمانات المزود.

10. التغييرات
